About Us

Stones Throw Olive Oil is a young olive grove, literally a stones throw from the Southern Gippsland town of Meeniyan, 160km south east of Melbourne. Nestled in the Tarwin Valley, between the coast and the foot hills of the Strzelecki ranges, Stones Throw produces high quality unfiltered Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The grove consists of three European varieties. Frantoio and Leccino are both Tuscan varieties, and Picual is from the Andalucia region of Spain. These varieties are excellent producers of high quality extra virgin olive oil and particularly suited to cool climates.

Stones Throw Olive Oil is a family run grove committed to producing single estate artisan oil. Grove management is based on a chemical free philosophy to ensure the oil we produce is as fresh and healthy as possible and characterises all that is good about Southern Gippsland, a region renowned for its fine produce.

 
 

Our range consists of three single-varietal olive oils, each available in 250ml or 500ml bottles. Our oils are unfiltered and may have a slightly cloudy appearance in the bottle. Choose from our Frantoio, Leccino or Picual varietals.

LECCINOA lovely golden colour with a delicate flavour and a hint of mild bitterness to provide just a little bite on the back palate.

PICUALA Spanish variety with a medium body, smooth texture, and sweet, buttery taste, but with a peppery kick that gives it an extra layer of flavour. An excellent choice for table use or as a dipping oil.
